Although this has been a struggle, I have learnt and grown with support from other parents.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously I volunteered for Citizens Advice Wales.  I volunteered for ASD Family help for a year before becoming employed (but still volunteer where I can). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is a privilege to be able to support families to make sure they get the benefits they are entitled to.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"250\" height=\"290\" src=\"https:\/\/asdfamilyhelp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/kim-w-web-e1687364273996.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1400\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kim W &#8211; Activity Worker<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I love working with the Charity &#8211; it is a pleasure to be part of such a great team, cause and the wonderful service users. I learn something new every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m currently doing an MSC in Psychology which is demanding but unbelievably interesting!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am originally from Pembs but moved to London for my undergrad in 3D effects for Performance and fashion, which translates to monster making and set building! I moved home just before Covid and was given a beautiful niece and nephew who I look after every week- it\u2019s a pleasure to see them grow up! I have two children, both of which are neurodiverse but have very different needs. I\u2019ve worked as a LSA in a special needs school for 8 years with an age range of children from 4 &#8211; 19 years old.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I found a workshop with ASD family help &amp; really enjoyed meeting other parents in similar ways to my household. I then decided to volunteer! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I enjoy making t-shirts and paddle boarding. For the past 15 years I worked as a Senior EP with responsibility for autism and as part of the ASD diagnostic team based at Withybush Hospital.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For 25 years I have been a Cub Scout leader in Haverfordwest and have supported many young Cubs and Scouts, who also have autism to be fully engaged in our scouting activities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"250\" height=\"290\" src=\"https:\/\/asdfamilyhelp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Amber-bio-e1709221203548.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1528\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Amber &#8211; Volunteer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am a mum of three beautiful girls. My oldest daughter has autism, PICA, Hyperlexia and awaiting a diagnosis for ARFID.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I attended a workshop with ASD Family Help and decided I would like to become a volunteer.&nbsp;I enjoy talking to other parents, sharing our stories and ideas and helping in any way I can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My other 2 children have underlying health issues, which has given my first hand experience of paediatric care, having spent a lot of time in hospital.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I also enjoy being part of other local events helping children with ALN along with their friends and families<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/asdfamilyhelp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Claire-bio.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1541\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Claire &#8211; Volunteer <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am a Birmingham girl but moved to Wales over 20 years ago. I love to be outside, on the water and with my animals.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I work as a speech and language therapist. The children, young people and families I meet and spend time with in my job are important to me. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I embrace and celebrate the joys of neurodivergence in my family and at work but also recognise the challenges it can bring. I found the staff, volunteers and peer support invaluable and now wish to help others on their journey too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am employed as a Paramedic with the Welsh Ambulance Service and in my spare time I love the beach and trips away with my children, paddleboarding, running and keeping fit.
