Lisa – Benefits Advisor<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have always worked with children whether volunteering, nannying or LSA in school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have three children; 2 are autistic and have additional needs. Although this has been a struggle, I have learnt and grown with support from other parents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previously I volunteered for Citizens Advice Wales. I volunteered for ASD Family help for a year before becoming employed (but still volunteer where I can). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a privilege to be able to support families to make sure they get the benefits they are entitled to.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I love working with the Charity – it is a pleasure to be part of such a great team, cause and the wonderful service users. I learn something new every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m currently doing an MSC in Psychology which is demanding but unbelievably interesting!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am originally from Pembs but moved to London for my undergrad in 3D effects for Performance and fashion, which translates to monster making and set building! I moved home just before Covid and was given a beautiful niece and nephew who I look after every week- it\u2019s a pleasure to see them grow up! We do lots of watersports and beach walks and are general beach bums!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Kim M – Liaison Worker<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I previously worked as a qualified driving instructor. I have two children, both of which are neurodiverse but have very different needs. This has given me first-hand knowledge of ASD, ADHD, learning difficulties and various health conditions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am passionate about inclusivity and giving children of all abilities the chance to experience and access new things.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In my spare time I am studying towards a degree in psychology and enjoy traveling with my children. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I’m originally from Lincolnshire and moved to Wales in 1990 to work for Pembrokeshire County Council and Manage Threatr Gwaun in Fishguard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I studied BA Creative Arts at Bretton Hall College, Leeds University. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had a long career in the Arts, specialising in  youth arts provision and disability arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am a mum of a non verbal neurodivergent child. I\u2019ve worked as a LSA in a special needs school for 8 years with an age range of children from 4 – 19 years old. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I found a workshop with ASD family help & really enjoyed meeting other parents in similar ways to my household. I then decided to volunteer! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I enjoy making t-shirts and paddle boarding. I am really happy to be involved volunteering to be learning new things and meeting new people and listening to others. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I started attending workshops as support for myself and my family whilst we were waiting on an Autism diagnosis for my daughter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve learnt so much from ASD Family help and I’ve loved meeting other parents – it really is the best support, so I decided to volunteer, to give something back and hopefully help families who may going through the same journey as I was. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I enjoy Photography, which I do as my job, as well as walking and swimming in my spare time. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I have 3 children (aged 20, 17 and 8 years).
2 of my children are on the spectrum and the other may possibly be. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My background as a charity worker with the homeless helps me understand people from all walks of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My hobbies are singing, socialising and swimming.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I have previously worked as a Head teacher in a Primary School and have experience of being the school ALNco with a passion for supporting neuro diverse pupils.  My focus has always been high in regard to children’s mental health and well-being.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At present I am a trainee Counsellor\/Psychotherapist and have my own practice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In my leisure time I love to read, watch films and chat with family and friends over tea and cake<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I retired 4 years ago having worked as an Educational Psychologist for Pembrokeshire County Council for 26 years and prior to that as a primary school teacher. For the past 15 years I worked as a Senior EP with responsibility for autism and as part of the ASD diagnostic team based at Withybush Hospital. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For 25 years I have been a Cub Scout leader in Haverfordwest and have supported many young Cubs and Scouts, who also have autism to be fully engaged in our scouting activities. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Amber – Volunteer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am a mum of three beautiful girls. My oldest daughter has autism, PICA, Hyperlexia and awaiting a diagnosis for ARFID.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I attended a workshop with ASD Family Help and decided I would like to become a volunteer. I enjoy talking to other parents, sharing our stories and ideas and helping in any way I can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My other 2 children have underlying health issues, which has given my first hand experience of paediatric care, having spent a lot of time in hospital. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also enjoy being part of other local events helping children with ALN along with their friends and families<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I am a Birmingham girl but moved to Wales over 20 years ago. I love to be outside, on the water and with my animals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I work as a speech and language therapist. The children, young people and families I meet and spend time with in my job are important to me. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I embrace and celebrate the joys of neurodivergence in my family and at work but also recognise the challenges it can bring. The importance of a listening and understanding ear can\u2019t be underestimated and I hope that is what I can offer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I moved to beautiful Pembrokeshire in late 2020, originally from Newbury, Berkshire. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I work as a Director and Cameraman in the world of Major Live Events and Video Production. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have 2 Sons, one of which is Neurodiverse, and this has given me a wealth of experience across the years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m looking forward to helping this wonderful charity in many ways, and giving back to society that I\u2019ve never been able to do until now.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I am Mum to 2 young children, one of whom has additional learning needs and is on the waiting list for an autism assessment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I accessed ASD family help at a time when as a single parent I was really in need of some help and advice. I found the staff, volunteers and peer support invaluable and now wish to help others on their journey too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am employed as a Paramedic with the Welsh Ambulance Service and in my spare time I love the beach and trips away with my children, paddleboarding, running and keeping fit. I’ve also recently been appointed parent governor of my children’s school. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I have 3 children, one girl and 2 boys, my oldest son is non speaking and has additional needs, most days are a struggle but I get through them with the help and advice from other parents and volunteers from ASD Family Help<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My hobbies are walking and running I find it helps me mentally My husband and I have just completed the Cardiff Half Marathon and raised money for ASD Family Help<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I want to use my experience to help other families<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
